The Catholic Sun, as the official source of news and information for the Diocese of Phoenix , share in the mission of evangelizing the Catholic faithful, under the direction of the bishop, by providing news, information, education, a forum for discussion and guidance in matters of faith, morals and spiritual life.
The Catholic Sun will use tools at our disposal, including the newspaper and its Web site to:
- Support and defend the dignity of human live, marriage and freedom of conscience.
- Uphold truth and accuracy in reporting.
- Encourage evangelization, including individual faith development and a call to holiness.
- Recognize the multicultural background of the Diocese of Phoenix and our connection beyond the diocese.
- Promote stewardship as grateful disciples’ response to God’s gifts.
- Recognize the role of the Catholic Church to engage and heal contemporary culture.
